Efficient hat profile technology for side feeds


With the PI.TRON HatSet, Pipetronics offers an innovative and reliable setting tool for trenchless sewer rehabilitation. The system enables quick and precise connection of lateral inlets to main sewers - uncomplicated, dimensionally stable and efficient. It is particularly suitable for the rehabilitation of damaged inlets and is compatible with the PI.TRON SR 150, SR 178 and SR 300 multifunction robots. 

Typical damage patterns - challenges in sewer rehabilitation
 

Leaking connections and side inlets are a major challenge in trenchless sewer rehabilitation. Common causes are:

  • Improperly integrated connections that protrude into the main sewer and cause leaks or deposits.
  • Closed inlets after a pipe liner renovation that need to be reopened and securely connected.
  • Leaky connections between the main sewer and the inlet through which groundwater can penetrate or wastewater can escape.

Thanks to its heatable technology and precise positioning using camera and robot head technology, the PI.TRON HatSet offers a fast, clean and trenchless solution for connecting inlets.

Technical flexibility for versatile applications
 

Pipetronics has designed the PI.TRON HatSet with a modular construction for various robot systems:

  • The HatSet for the SR 150 and SR 178 multifunctional robots consists of a packer unit that can be folded down to 90° and a vulcanized bladder with integrated heating.
  • The HatSet for the SR 300 consists of a free-floating, rotating and folding boom and a rigid shaped shield.
  • Both modules can be heated and enable controlled curing of the hat profiles.

The innovative scissor lift technology ensures that even hard-to-reach damaged areas in the sewer can be rehabilitated effortlessly - without time-consuming excavation work.

Innovative technology for maximum efficiency


The PI.TRON HatSet combines state-of-the-art robotics with heatable curing technology to integrate side inlets into the main sewer quickly, cleanly and permanently tightly.

  • The process is based on a customized carrier material made of glass or synthetic fibres, which is impregnated with a special 2-component epoxy resin. The carrier material is selected to suit the pipe diameter and the branching angle (e.g. 45° to 90°).
  • The impregnated hat profile is placed on the packer or bladder and the hat brim of the PI.TRON HatSet and positioned exactly at the damaged area thanks to precise camera guidance and the rotating robot head.
  • The integrated heating function ensures controlled, accelerated curing, whereby the hat profile bonds firmly to the pipe wall.
  • Thanks to the sophisticated design of the setting tool, the wall thickness of the hat profile brim tapers towards the edge - for optimum adaptation to the pipe geometry.
Easy handling - high precision


The PI.TRON HatSet combines intelligent robotics with state-of-the-art heating technology for precise, fast and clean renovation of side inlets:

  • Quick installation: The setting tool is attached to the PI.TRON SR 150, SR 178 and SR 300 multifunction robots using a bayonet catch.
  • Precise positioning: The integrated camera and rotary head technology enable precise alignment of the hat profile at the damaged area.
  • Optimum fixing: A compressed air cylinder presses the impregnated material firmly against the pipe wall.
  • Efficient curing: The heatable bladder ensures controlled, fast curing - for a permanently sealed result.
  • Maximum flexibility: Thanks to the scissor lift and rotating robot head technology, even hard-to-reach damaged areas can be repaired without digging.

With the PI.TRON HatSet, you can meet the challenges of sewer rehabilitation efficiently and reliably - even with complex damage patterns.

PI.TROC TH - The ideal epoxy resin for hat profiles


For a secure, force-fit connection, we recommend our specially formulated 2-component epoxy resin PI.TROC TH:

  • The thixotropic viscosity ensures that the resin becomes thinner during the impregnation process and is evenly distributed in the substrate.
  • The optimized formulation is tailored to the heated curing of the PI.TRON HatSet so that the material cures quickly and in a controlled manner.
  • The force-fit connection ensures a permanent, dimensionally stable seal of side inlets to main ducts.

Maximum versatility with five applications


Modern sewer rehabilitation requires maximum flexibility - and this is exactly where PI.TRON5 comes in. Pipetronics combines five innovative rehabilitation techniques in a single multifunctional robot that can carry out a variety of tasks thanks to simple adaptation. 

The PI.TRON SR 178 and SR 300 multifunctional robots serve as a central unit and can be equipped with different modules depending on requirements - flexible, economical and future-proof.

  • PI.TRON Filling system: For the targeted restoration of surface damage with PI.TROC SP resin
  • PI.TRON Grouting system: For permanent sealing by injecting PI.TROC 21 resin
  • PI.TRON HatSet: For setting hat profiles for secure inlet connections with PI.TROC TH resin
